Job Description:

The Researcher is a member of Forrester’s marketing and strategy (M&S) team in China. This team develops analysis and insight to serve the specific needs of the Marketing & Strategy Professionals we serve across the world, with specific emphasis on China and the AsiaPac region.
The Researcher plays a key role in supporting analysts with the production of high-quality analysis, insights, presentations, and client advisory. This role will support all seven client roles within M&S as they seek to expand in this region. Given Forrester’s nascent presence in the region for the M&S client group, the Researcher will also be called on to perform additional tasks as identified by his/her manager. These could include activities in support of sales and marketing activity, developing and delivering successful events, and implementing the Forrester strategy in the region across Forrester products and services.
The Researcher is self-motivated, performs quality analysis, produces powerful presentations, and creates coherent written arguments. Qualified candidates display a strong interest in M&S topics such as online selling, social media, mobile, globalization, online selling, consumer behaviour, and best practices. A track record in business-to-consumer marketing or project consulting is extremely helpful.

Responsibilities:

• Produce and adapt quantitative and qualitative insights into strategic analysis and insights, presentations, reports, etc. to help Marketing & Strategy Professionals be successful.
• Conduct primary data collection from survey design to analysis and insights.
• Assist analysts in conducting analysis, developing insights and findings, and producing reports and presentations.
• Conduct interviews and evaluations for insights, analysis, and for clients.

Requirements:

• A strong track record of academic achievement — a bachelor’s degree as a minimum; a concentration in marketing, English, statistics, or economics is helpful, and at least one year of work experience in a marketing, market analysis, or consulting role.
• An understanding of basic marketing technologies and business tactics.
• A strong track record of report writing and excellent command of the English language.
• The ability to work with a team under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
• The ability to work independently without day-to-day supervision and as part of a global analysis team.
• Familiarity with statistical methods and comfort with surveys and data (preferred).
• Superior communication skills.
• Fluency in Mandarin; other languages a plus.
